In a Capital Conference match up Thursday, the Husky tracksters visited Central to tangle with the Panthers and the Molalla Indians.
“Molalla, along with Cascade has to be the odds-on favorite to win the league title for the boys. The Molalla girls will duke in out with Cascade and Sisters for the girls title,” Coach Billy Snow said.
The Huskies sent mainly a JV crew because the following night, they were at the West Albany Twilight meet.
“We have some kids injured and are trying to rest or lighten up on those kids to get them ready for the District meet in a couple of weeks,” Coach Snow said.
Boys Results
Molalla won the boys side 114 to 51 over Central with the Huskies at 17. “Coaches Kassebaum and Spinney played with the results and pegged things out like we had a full squad on the guys aside and our guys were within 20 points or so of Central. On the track, points were hard to come by,” Coach Snow added.
The short relay team of Kellen Petersen, Tory Petersen, Jon Anderegg and Malcolm Brown ran second to Molalla in a time of 50.5.
Skyler Brown was third in the high hurdles at 19.7. In the 800M, Ryan Garrett ran a great race and had a big PR to place second in 2.09.6. Ryan’s time puts him #8 on the Sweet Home frosh list.
