Tabby Trahan was named the Husky girls basketball team’s most valuable player during the annual awards dessert held on Thursday.
Other award winners included Jenny Hamn, rookie of the year; Paige Niemi, most improved; Erika Snow, most inspirational, Makenzie Marchbanks, defensive player of the year and free-throw award; and Sara Brocard, hustle award.
Coach Jason Gorham also announced the all-league awards during the banquet. They included Trahan and Brocard, second team, and Hamn – one of two sophomores to receive recognition – and Snow as honorable mention recipients.
Junior varsity player of the year was Alex Thompson, who helped the team improve going from a 0-7 non-league record to a 7-5 league record.
First-year letters went to sophomores Hamn and Niemi and juniors Ashley Danielson, Becky Spencer, Nicole Fagan and Alex Thompson. Receiving third-year letters were seniors Trahan, Snow, Brocard and Marchbanks.
