The seventh Best in the West triathlon series will be held Sept. 7-10 at Lewis Creek Park.
The event, which has grown each year it has been held, has required an increasing number of volunteers, founder Blair Bronson said.
“We kind of have a need across the board,” he said, adding that there are opportunities for sports teams and other groups to raise funds by helping out.
Co-Director Staci Partridge said a total of 402 volunteer shifts will need to be filled to fully staff the event.
“We have shifts all over the place in terms of time of day and responsibility,” she said, noting that many volunteers are tasked with making sure competitors “get through the course safely.”
Volunteers will receive a T-shirt and bandana and will be able to eat breakfast and a barbecue lunch.
