Tristan Rodger Varner, 9, of Sweet Home died Aug. 2, 2008.
He was born on May 10, 1999 in Lebanon, Oregon. He lived most his life in the Linn County area and also lived in Portland. He recently attended the third grade at Foster Elementary School.
He enjoyed his favorite guitar hero, Slash, and liked playing video games, swimming and playing games. He was a past Jamboree volunteer with his aunt. He loved spending time with his baby sister and family.
Tristan is survived by his mother, Octavia Silvestrie; father, Jimmy Varner; aunt, uncle and family: Vicki, Mark, Marcus, Phillip, Tiffini and Emily DeLong; brothers Andrew Silvestrie, Austin Silvestrie and Tyler Varner; sisters Sierra Tagen and Camil Varner; grandmothers: Ruth Godinez and Bobbi Peebler; grandfather James Varner; and many loving aunts, uncles and extended family.
Viewing will be from 4 to 7 p.m. Tuesday, Aug. 5 at Sweet Home Funeral Chapel. A funeral service will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday, Aug. 6, at Community Chapel in Sweet Home. Final burial will be at Gilliland Cemetery.
