Trudy McCutcheon, 65, of Sweet Home, died June 27, 2006.
She was born in South Dakota and moved to Eastern Oregon with her family in 1940. They moved to Springfield in the 1950s, where she met her husband Jess in high school. They were married Feb. 12, 1960.
The McCutcheons moved to the LaGrande area in 1964, then to Burns in 1965, where they settled until 1974 when they made Sweet Home their new home. They left for five years to Indonesia but came back in 1991 and have been here ever since, only leaving to spend winters in Brownsville, Texas.
Mrs. McCutcheon enjoyed deer hunting with her husband and son, cooking, entertaining, gardening, line dancing and bowling. The McCutcheons loved Sweet Home in the summers, but enjoyed visiting Mexico during their winter visits to Brownsville, TX.
Mrs. McCutcheon is survived by husband, Jess of Sweet Home; son, Randy McCutcheon of Albany; sister, Linda Stoneberg of Lacey, Wash.; mother, Marjorie Grayson also of Lacey, Wash.; and cousin, Gayland Mires of McMinnville; two grandchildren, and a niece and nephew.
She was preceded in death by her father.
A celebration of life service will be held from 2 to 4 p.m. Sunday, July 9, at the Elks Lodge, lower level, 440 Osage St. in Sweet Home.
