Twin Oaks Rehab and Specialty Care Center celebrated Feb. 17 after it received a deficiency-free survey from state inspectors who had completed a surprise inspection of the facility.
The inspection, called a state review, included all phases of Twin Oaks’ operation, including nursing, maintenance, social services, environmental, medical records, activities, dietary and administration.
“We came out 100 percent,” said Steve Herzog, administrator . “In the eyes of the state, a perfect score is considered substantially in compliance. We’re talking about a three and a half inch (thick) book of regulations. We’re doing what we are supposed to do in all areas.”
Herzog said the 45-bed facility is inspected annually. Herzog said this is the first perfect score Twin Oaks has received since it was acquired nearly six years ago by Avamere.
“This is very good news for us,” he said. “This means that we’re a great team. The staff is friendly, cheerful, kind and obedient. It’s a great staff. It’s them that makes it happen.”
A company statement attested to that: “Twin Oaks has often been reported as the friendliest facility in the Avamere family. The residents and families report a high level of satisfaction. The staff goes above and beyond to provide not only quality care, but a homelike environment,” the statement said.
