Twin Oaks resident celebrates 100th

Margaret Case of Sweet Home celebrated her 100th birthday Feb. 20.

She was born on a ranch in Tucumcari, N.M. on Feb. 20, 1911, the youngest of four children. The sole survivor of her siblings, she is the only one to reach the centenarian mark.

“Marge,” as she is known, has resided in Oregon for the last 11 years. Three years ago, she moved to Sweet Home to be near her son, Bill Case and his wife Jill, and is living at Twin Oaks Rehabilitation Center.

During her lifetime she has been a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, court reporter, county clerk, pianist, and tap dancer to name a few,” according to Bill Case.

“Marge blesses others with her selflessness, kindness and her ready, engaging smile. She is the personification of the old adage, ‘when you’re smiling, the whole world smiles with you,’ he said.

Both of her sons, Ralph and Bill, and their wives, all six of her grandchildren, seven of 12 great-grandchildren as well as some very special friends joined her for celebration of the momentous occasion.
