Nine Sweet Home Mat Club wrestlers placed at the Kids State tournament Sunday, Jan. 31, at Salem Pavilion.
Champions for Sweet Home were Lynkin Royer, who placed first at Bantam 75 pounds, and Travis Thorpe, who was first at Cadet 126 pounds.
Jackson Royer placed second at Schoolboy 98 pounds, as the Mat Club’s only runner-up.
Other placewinners were: Kyle Watkins, third at Schoolboy 70 pounds; Macen Rosa, fourth at Peewee 55 pounds; Luke Rosa, fourth at Bantam 75 pounds; Jesse Landtroop, fourth at Bantam 45 pounds; Ryker Hartsook, fifth at Intermediate 80 pounds; and Brayden Newport, fifth at Schoolboy 105 pounds.
Also competing, but not placing, were: Kyle Zajic; Kaden Zajic; Riley Vaughan; Kyle Sieminski; Jeremiah Gill; Tytus Hardee; Connor Ford; Tristan Spencer; James Rasmussen; Ashton Swanson; Cohen Gutierrez; Evan Ashcraft; Justin Maynard; Jacob Sieminski; Jesse Jamison; and Damion Schocker.
