Amanda Basham of Sweet Home, running for Pacific University, set a new season best at 6,000 meters at the Pacific Lutheran University Invitational, held at the University Golf Course.
Basham recorded a fourth-place finish to lead the Pacific women, knocking 23 seconds off of her best with a time of 23:34.17. The mark also moved the sophomore up from 10th to fourth on Pacific’s all-time top-25 list at 6,000 meters.
In the same race, freshman Joe Deardorff, who ran for Central last year, knocked over a minute off of his best at 8,000 meters to finish sixth with a time of 27:20.21.
