Chris Chapman of the Oregon State University Music Department leads school band members during the Val-Co League’s Fall Band Festival on Tuesday, Oct. 6 at Sweet Home High School. Chapman, a professor at OSU, worked with the brass musicians, his colleague Bob Brudvig worked with the percussion and Megan Ilg worked with the woodwinds. After individual sectional instruction during the morning, the musicians joined in a mass band in the gym, playing a concert march by James Swearingen and another piece by Robert W. Smith.
