VALIANT finds meth lab during court-ordered eviction

The Valley Interagency Narcotics Team (VALIANT) served a search warrant during an eviction on Aug. 20 at 40705 Hwy. 228.

VALIANT assisted Linn County Sheriff’s office with a court-ordered eviction at the property. During the eviction, a VALIANT press release said, evidence of narcotics crimes were discovered on the property.

VALIANT officers located a non-operational (boxed) methamphetamine production lab. They seized glassware and chemicals that had been used to manufacture methamphetamine, scales, packaging material, small amounts of methamphetamine, pipes used to smoke controlled substances, a small amount of marijuana, restricted weapons (double-edged knives) and a police radio scanner.

Located on the property and released at the scene were Jimmie Lee Leming, 56; Ward Allen Fehrer, 33; and Cindy Marie King, 49.

VALIANT lab site safety officers obtained samples from the methamphetamine production lab. The remainder of the chemicals and glassware were disposed of through a licensed environmental disposal company.

The investigation is continuing and future arrests and charges are anticipated.
