Vanora Rose Smith, 79, of Sweet Home died Oct. 10, 2011.
She was born April 4, 1932 in Tecumseh, Neb. to Edward and Bell (Wes) Lunsford, the 13th of 15 children. Her family were farmers and they lived in Nebraska and Oregon during her childhood. She lived in Lakewood, Calif. for 26 years before coming to Sweet Home.
Mrs. Smith enjoyed gardening her roses and making her yard beautiful. She loved to write poems. She was a great story teller and jokester. She loved having good times with her family and sharing her history as she looked at pictures, reminiscing. Her family will remember her wonderful Christmas candies and treats which she shared with everyone.
Mrs. Smith is survived by her husband, Richard Smith of Sweet Home; brother Dick Lunsford of Brownsville; children Tom Guinn and Karen Fisher, both of Victorville, Calif., and Jana Seaman of Big Bear Lake, Calif.; nine grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by a son, Gary Murphy; and 13 siblings.
