Veda Estelle Howton, 85, of Lebanon passed away Friday. She was born in Atoka, Oklahoma to Robert S. and Leona L. (Webb) Parker.
She has lived in Oklahoma, Texas, Arizona and Oregon. She lived in Texas where she had three children. She divorced and moved to Mesa, Arizona where she met and married Art Howton. They moved to Oregon in 1965. In 1976 they moved from Scio to Lebanon.
Veda raised cattle while in Scio. After moving to Lebanon she collected and sold baby items for resale. She then began collecting dolls to refurbish.
She is survived by children: Wanda and her husband Jim Swindle of Lebanon, Ronald Cowan of Salem, Reita and her husband Robert Hurley of Jefferson; grandchildren: Mary Tucker, Chris Swindle, Tressa York, Jeffery Cowan, Carey Vance, Jeremy Hurley, David Hurley, Daniel Hurley, Heather Hampton; 21 great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandchild.
Funeral services were held June 23 at Trinity Baptist Church in Lebanon, with a graveside service following at Liberty Cemetery in Sweet Home.
