Velma Dee Easling

Velma Dee Easling, 98, of Sweet Home died Dec. 3, 2017.

She was born June 22, 1919 in Kenwood, Okla. to Vernie M. and Annie (Richards) Bales.

She was raised in Oklahoma but spent most of her life in Ore-gon.

She married William Quinton Easling on June 2, 1937 in Venita, Okla.

Mrs. Easling enjoyed flowers, quilting and anything with a needle and thread.

She is survived by children William D. and daughter-in-law Patsy Easling of Kenai, Alaska, Wanda and son-in-law Ken Dahlin of Sweet Home, Charles “Bud” and daughter-in-law Sandy Easling of Eatonville, Wash., Velma Jean and son-in-law Ken “Topper” Buss of Tillamook, and Shirley and son-in-law Jack Smith of Florence; 12 grandchildren; 30 great-grandchildren; and 35 great-great-grandchildren.

Mrs. Easling was preceded in death by her husband, William Quinton Easling; five brothers; three sisters; one grandchild and two great-great-grandchildren.

Viewing will be from 11 – 12:45 p.m. Saturday, Dec. 9, at Sweet Home Funeral Chapel. Funeral service will follow at 1 p.m. Final burial will be at Gilliland Cemetery.

Memorial contributions can be made in Mrs. Easling’s name to the American Cancer Society or a charity of your choice.
