Members meet three times per year throughout the state to provide information on events and programs impacting veterans.
Plans are being made for upcoming visits to veterans hospitals around the state.
“While our organization is small in size, it is not small in stature,” said Norman Jimmerson, grand commander. “We provide a degree of happiness and hope to those we visit in the hospitals.”
The Military Order of the Cooties is the honor branch of the Veterans of Foreign Wars. Those members who have made outstanding contributions towards furthering the objectives of the V.F.W. may qualify for the order.
Objectives of the order include fun, frolic, good comradeship, service to the VFW and the widows and orphans of the VFW National Home. Time is also dedicated to visiting and helping hospitalized veterans with the motto: “Keep ’em Smilin’ in beds of White.”
