Vicki Lynn Leach, 57, of Sweet Home, passed away peacefully on April 10, 2026 after a courageous seven-year battle with ALS.
She was born on Jan. 20, 1969, in Lebanon.
Vicki remained deeply connected to the community she called home throughout her life. She was a devoted wife, mother, and friend whose strength, kindness, and love touched everyone who knew her. Throughout her illness, she faced each day with resilience and grace, inspiring those around her with her courage.
Vicki dedicated 25 years of service to the Oregon Department of Forestry, where she worked as a dispatcher and played a vital role in supporting wildfire crews by coordinating and running food services on multiple fires over the years. Her work placed her at the heart of Oregon’s wildfire response community, where she was respected and appreciated by many.
Vicki also gave back generously to her community, volunteering for 25 years with the Oregon Jamboree. She was a familiar and valued presence at the event until ALS forced her to step away, something she did with the same quiet strength that defined her life.
She is survived by her loving husband, Alvie Leach; her mother, Roberta “Bobbi”; her children, Tiffini, Phillip, Marcus and Emily; and grandchildren Grayden, Gabriella, Hayden, Isabelle, Perry, Kate, Lincoln, Michael, Noah and Oz, who were the center of her world.
She was preceded in death by her nephew, Tristan (2009), whom she raised. Her family will forever cherish her unwavering love, guidance, and the countless memories they shared together.
Vicki will be remembered for her warm heart, her dedication to her family and community, and the steady, giving spirit she carried into everything she did. Her legacy lives on in the lives she touched and the love she gave so freely. She will be deeply missed and forever loved.
A celebration of life will be at noon Saturday, April 18, at the Sweet Home VFW. The family asks that, in lieu of flowers, donations be made in her memory to ALS research. Sweet Home Funeral Chapel is handling the arrangements.
