Vickie Malrea Beatrice Tuomey, 58, died on Feb. 6, 2006.
She was born on Sept. 12, 1947 in Greenville, Calif., to Lennie and Cecile Lanham.
She attended grade school in California and Oregon and graduated from Eureka High School in Eureka, Calif., in 1967.
She moved to the Port Orford area where she worked at Pitches Tavern for several years. After the birth of her daughter, Melissa, she spent a few years in Kodiak, Alaska, and then returned to Port Orford and married Tom Tuomey. Later she moved to Sweet Home and worked for Goodwill Industries in Albany when it first opened. She later worked for Senior Services and took care of the elderly.
She was devoted to her only child, Melissa Corliss, and her grandchildren. She loved to ride horses, camping, swimming, crocheting and reading Louis Lamoure and Steven King novels.
Mrs. Tuomey is survived by her daughter; four grandchildren; husband, Tom; brothers, Sonny Lanham of New Jersey, Victor and Merlene Lanham of Oregon and Bruce and Hedie Lanham of New Jersey; sisters, Janice and Curt House of Oregon, Eleanor and Al Hills and Velma and Bud Davis of Idaho; and numerous nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents and brother Bob Lanham.
A memorial service was held on Feb. 11 at the VFW Hall in Sweet Home.
