Virla May Shipp, 85, of Sweet Home died Oct. 30, 2017.
She was born March 23, 1932 in Oildale, Calif. to R.L. and Chloie (Wilson) Fagan.
She lived in Oildale until 1948. She lived in Brownsville and Crawfordsville for a couple of years before finally settling in Sweet Home in 1951.
Mrs. Shipp was a member of the Assembly of God church all her life. She was also part of a quilting circle.
She was a homemaker and loved making pies.
She loved quilting, gardening and needlepoint.
Mrs. Shipp is survived by her husband, Hubert A. Shipp of Sweet Home; daughter Sandra S. and her husband Robert Dunn of Longview, Wash.; sons Sam Shipp, and Ken and daughter-in-law Denise Shipp, all of Sweet Home; 11 grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren.
Mrs. Shipp was preceded in death by sons Joe Shipp in 2002, Rod Shipp in 2008 and Dan Shipp in 2011.
Viewing will be at 11 a.m. Tuesday, Nov. 7. A funeral service will follow at noon at Hope Church, 890 Mountain View Road. A graveside service will be held at 2 p.m. at Gilliland Cemetery.
