Volunteer volleyball coach charged with luring

A Sweet Home woman was charged with luring a minor after a parent discovered communications with their child.

On Oct. 31, 2025, the parent of a juvenile contacted the Lebanon Police Department after

discovering inappropriate electronic communications between their child and the child’s adult

volunteer volleyball coach.

The investigation found that Alyssa Joan Baker, 20, of Sweet Home, had sent explicit and inappropriate electronic messages to a minor.

Baker had previously volunteered as the minor’s volleyball coach; however, the season had ended prior to the start of the investigation, and Lebanon Community School District had terminated her volunteer status.

In February 2026, Baker was indicted by a grand jury on one count of luring a minor. The charge alleges she “unlawfully and knowingly furnished to a minor a narrative account of sexual conduct for the purpose of inducing the minor to engage in sexual conduct” between Oct. 9-28.

She was taken into custody and lodged at the Linn County Jail. She posted 10% of a $10,000 security.

The investigation remains ongoing. Anyone with additional information is encouraged to contact

Officer Romeo Herrejon at (541) 258-4317 or Lt. Taylor Jackson at (541) 258-4357.
