Although those who took the time to cast their ballots overwhelmingly supported a new Sweet Home library operating levy, the measure failed to receive the needed 50% voter turnout on Tuesday, garnering about 48%.
Those voting in favor numbered 1,059 while opposed number 560.
Plans are to close the library, at least temporarily, beginning Saturday.
