eet Home died peacefully at his home Sept. 15, 2008.
He was born Jan. 9, 1925 in Bokoshe, Okla. to Johnny Payton and Pearl Anna Wiles.
He came to Sweet Home from Panama, Okla. in 1949. He married Mayco Clara Martin June 11, 1949 in Vanburen, Ark. He worked for 39 years at the Santiam Willamette Industries mill as a lumber grader. He always worked hard at other various jobs. He was a member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars.
Mr. Wiles loved hunting, camping, fishing, long family drives and hot dog roasts. He also enjoyed NASCAR racing and was a Ford man. He rode his Honda four-wheeler hunting and around his place. He loved the grandkids and great-grandkids.
Mr. Wiles is survived by his wife, Mayco of Sweet Home; sons John of Sweet Home, Ron of Alaska, Ralph of Brookings and Jerry of Sweet Home; sisters Mary Martin of Panama, Okla. and Dorothy Ray of Shady Point, Okla.; nine grandchildren and 16 great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
Funeral services were held Sept. 19 at Sweet Home Funeral Chapel, with burial at Gilliland Cemetery.
