Water, sewer rates too high

My name is Keven Hampton, and I live in the Sweet Home city limits. I am simply amazed at what the city charges the average homeowner for water and sewer.

I’ve lived in Sweet Home for 40 years and never knew our city was charging this much for every human’s basic needs, water and sewer. God forbid you ever get behind on your water bill.

For the month of July, I paid $114.20. That’s one hundred fourteen dollars and 20 cents. That’s with only three people using water and sewer. If my family was any bigger, I couldn’t afford water.

I’m thinking about renting a port-a-potty and putting it in my backyard just so I can save enough money to pay my water bill.

Look, I know it costs the city a lot of money to keep our water as fresh and pure as it is. I drink gallons of it daily, and it tastes really good. But come on Sweet Home, $114.20. For that price, it should be lined with gold.

All I’m saying is something happened, and I couldn’t afford water. How’s a man to survive without water? Help me to make Sweet Home understand if I have money or not I’m still going to need water.
