On Aug. 13, the City of Sweet Home City Council authorized a waterline improvement project for the construction of approximately 4,700 feet of water mainline and 115 service replacements.
The area most affected by this project includes the area around First, Second and Third avenues, primarily south of Highway 228. The project also affects Tamarack, Vine and Ulex streets.
The project is expected to begin by Oct. 15 with completion expected by the end of February.
This project is part of the city’s two-inch water main replacement program and is necessary to improve water flows to hydrants as well as individual services.
“Although it is our full intent to minimize the amount of disruption to area residents, some inconvenience will be experienced,” Public Works Director Mike Adams said.
