Neil Miller of the Oregon Department of Forestry submitted this photo as “a good example why ODF doesn’t allow mowing of dried and cured grass during the hours of 10 a..m to 8 p.m. during Regulated Use or why it’s completely prohibited when we are in extreme fire danger.” This fire occurred around 5:15 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 10, in the Lacomb area. It burned 1.15 acres . The temperature was around 85 degrees and relative humidity was less than 20 percent. Miller said ODF and Lebanon Fire Department responded to another mower-caused fire on Hidden Valley Road earlier that day. “Fire season is not over!” he noted.
