William David Townsend, 77, of Tonopah, Ariz., a former Sweet Home resident, passed away June 7, 2015 after a short illness.
He is survived by Ann, his wife and business partner of 37 years; daughter Shellee; sons Chris, Scott, and John; grandchildren Somer, Chris, Dawna, Harold, Jasper, Will, and Daniel; and great-grandchildren, all of whom reside in Washington and Idaho.
Wonderful memories of Bill come from his love of playing cards, hiking, boating, and sailing, flying, water and snow skiing and camping. After becoming an autopilot specialist for Boeing, his enthusiasm for being self-employed and his love of real estate led to great success in that field selling apartment buildings, doing condo conversions and land subdivision and development, building and rehabbing houses, and having a mom-and-pop used car lot, as well as other businesses.
He is greatly missed. A potluck celebration of life will be held Aug. 15 at Two Rivers Campground Pavillion, approximately 25 miles north of Highway 2 and Davenport, Wash.
