Nov. 11, 1922 – Feb. 5, 2018
William Harley Dimick, 95, of Sweet Home passed away on Feb. 5, 2018, surrounded by his wife Bonnie of 71 years and loving family.
He was born in Aurora on Nov. 11, 1922 to Wiley Elven and May Augusta (Yoder) Dimick.
He served in the United States Army Air Force medical unit during World War II. He served in Normandy, northern France, Ardennes and England.
William lived in Oregon his entire life. He had a logging career, working with Duncan and Moore Logging and Rice Logging.
He enjoyed watching the news and sports. His favorite teams were the Seahawks, Mariners and Trailblazers. He loved sports and betting quarters with his kids.
Bill enjoyed his grandchildren visiting and listening to what they had been up to. He liked playing checkers with his granddaughter Amber (I think he let her win most of the time). He also loved our big family get togethers for all occasions and seeing the little ones running around the house.
William is survived by his wife Bonnie of Sweet Home; sons Lester (Diana), Randy and Jack Dimick, all of Sweet Home, Rick (Tammy) Dimick of Jefferson, and Mark Dimick of Corvallis; daughters Linda Dimick of Montana, Shirley Austin of Brownsville, Jani (Bob) Tydings of New York, Eileen (Dennis) Olson of California, Jan (Rick) Holder of Sweet Home, Julie Lafayette of Gervais, and Tammy (Jonathen) Lorenzen of Eugene; brothers Shorty and Dick, and sister-in-law Emmy, all of Sweet Home; 25 grandchildren; 39 great-grandchildren; and three great-great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by a son Harley (Danny); parents Wiley Elven and May Augusta Dimick; brothers George, Chauncy, Rex (Scotty) and Harry; and sisters Dorothy, Betty and Mary.
We will all miss you so much, Our Love! Till we meet again.
