William Marshall Crane

William Marshall Crane, 68, of Sweet Home passed away Thursday, November 28, 2024. He was born April 8, 1956 in Norfolk, Virginia to Patricia Marie (Newman) and Gerald F. Crane.
Bill lived in Housatonic, Massachusetts until after he graduated high school. From there, he moved to Denver, Colorado where he completed his journeyman cabinet license. In San Diego, he met his wife, Joy Germain, and they lived there nine years. In 1995, they moved to Sweet Home and raised their son Chase together.
He worked for Glacier Window and Door in Sweet Home before injuring himself 21 years ago. He was a brilliant and talented custom cabinet maker.
He loved steelhead fishing and he was amazing at it, he had the magic touch. Bill enjoyed teaching others his fishing and wood working skills. Watching his son Chase playing football and running track was his biggest love and happiness. Bill was an avid/dedicated Bronco fan no matter if they won or lost. He loved his friends like they were family. Family, friends, fishing and football were his life.
Bill is survived by his wife Joy Germain of Sweet Home; son Chase Cameron of Sweet Home; sister Patricia Boyd and her roommate Kate Crowley of Fort Myers, Florida; sister Darlene Ostrander and husband Mark of Housatonic, Massachusetts; father-in-law Fred Germain of Sweet Home; brother-in-law David Germain and Kim of Philomath; Uncle Rick Daley and Gail of Housatonic, Massachusetts, Pete and Maria Newman, Annemarie and Lisa all of Lanesborough, Massachusetts; many cousins, nieces, nephews and so many friends who all loved him dearly. He was preceded in death by his parents; Aunt Mary Newman and his mother-in-law, Jo E. Germain.
