William Orr

Aug. 28, 1945 – April 5, 2016

William “Bill” Ross Orr, 70, of Sweet Home died April 5, 2016.

He was born Aug. 28, 1945 in Eugene to William Jennings and Ann Pauline (Eliason) Orr and grew up in Cascadia.

He moved to Sweet Home in 1969 and spent the remainder of his life at his home on Country Lane.

Mr. Orr served in the Air Force as a mechanic from 1963-1964 and was a current member of AMVETS. He also was a member of Elks and Moose lodges and the Veterans Club.

He owned Double Cross Logging and worked in the timber industry all of his life. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, coin collecting, reading and having a cold one with family and friends. Mr. Orr believed in God.

He is survived by his son, Jeremy Orr and daughter-in-law Karen, daughter Jill and son-in-law Rick Hutchins, all of Sweet Home; nine grandchildren; many great-grandchildren; a sister, Dallis Morris of Cascadia; and many nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his spouse, Kathleen Alice Miner Orr (April 13, 1999), and parents William Orr and Ann Eliason Orr.

In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Sweet Home Veterans Club.

A memorial service is planned for 1 p.m. Thursday, April 14, at Sweet Home VFW .

Sweet Home Funeral Chapel is handling the arrangements.
