Willie Landtroop, 87, of Sweet Home died Wednesday.
He was born to James and Rebecca (Teem) Landtroop in Wilburton, Okla. He served in the United States Army during World War II.
Mr. Landtroop married Kathren Kimbler on June 3, 1947. The family moved to Sweet Home in 1964, where Mr. Landtroop worked at Mid Plywood in Sweet Home, until 1967. He later worked for Tyler Bros. Logging in Alaska until he retired in 1984.
Mr. Landtroop returned to Sweet Home where he had a home, and had lived here since. He enjoyed fishing.
He is survived by his wife of 59 years, Kathern of Sweet Home; five children, Harvey Handtroop of Silverton, James Landtroop of Albany, Karin Glade of Sweet Home, Boyd Landtroop of Sweet Home, and Jackie Housing of Albany; one sister; nine grandchildren; and great-grandchildren.
No services are planned. Workman & Steckly Funeral Chapel is handling the arrangements.
