Winifred Jacobsen, 90, of Corvallis died Sept. 15, 2007.
She was born March 24, 1917 in Saskatoon, Canada, the oldest of eight children born to Winifred and Arthur Rosson.
She married Darrald Jacobsen in May 1941 in California. They had two children, a son and a daughter.
The Jacobsens moved from California to Sweet Home in 1976, and then, due to ill health, moved to Corvallis in 1989 to be closer to their doctors.
Mrs. Jacobsen loved to quilt, sew, knit, and crochet. She loved gardening and roses were her favorite flowers. She had many friends whom she considered an extension of her family. She will be missed by all.
Mrs. Jacobsen was preceded in death by her husband, Darrald; son, Tom; sisters, Irene and Geraldine; and brother, Bill.
She is survived by her daughter, Nancy Phelps; son-in-law, Richard Phelps; daughter-in-law, Karen Jacobsen; sisters, Elsie, Helen and Katie; brother, Chuck; five grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandchild; and numerous nieces and nephews.
A memorial service is scheduled for 1 p.m. on Sept. 25, 2007 at Beautiful Savior Lutheran Church, 2605 NW 13th, in Corvallis.
