After two years of snow-less slopes, Hoodoo Ski Area has announced it will open this Friday, Dec. 18.
Hoodoo has 35 to 40 inches of snow at the lodge and expects more snow fall this week.
“Local skiers and snowboarders are eager to get back on the snow and the entire Hoodoo team shares their enthusiasm for winter’s return,” said spokesman Leif Williams. “The mountain snowpack looks good as we are currently packing and tracking the mountain to set the base.”
Hoodoo will be open from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Friday through Sunday of this weekend, then will open 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. starting Monday, when night skiing begins. The mountain will only be open till 4 p.m. on Christmas Eve and Christmas Day, Dec. 24-25, and on Sunday, Dec. 27.
Skiing will be till 9 p.m. on New Year’s Eve, followed by fireworks and a party until midnight.
