A woman was injured Jan. 3 in an accident that flipped her vehicle upside down closing one lane of Main Street near 10th Avenue.
Transported to Lebanon Community Hospital with minor injuries was Teresa Cissney, 39, of 28130 Water Ln.
She was driving a 1988 Suzuki Samarai, Sweet Home Police Officer Eric Markell said. Somehow she rolled up the center median and the planter, flipping her vehicle onto its roof at about 5 p.m.
The investigation into the cause of the accident is continuing.
At about 2:15 p.m. on Friday, Dennis Ritter, 43, of Sweet Home reported that he was the victim of a hit and run.
He had been traveling west on Main Street, Police Chief Bob Burford said. Slowing down because vehicles in front of him were turning, Ritter reported that his 1985 Chevrolet pickup was struck in the rear. He pulled into the 76 gas station and waited for the driver of the other vehicle to pull in so they could exchange information.
Ritter alleged that the other driver continued on, Chief Burford said. Ritter provided a license plate number to police. Ritter had approximately $100 in damage to his vehicle.
While talking to Ritter, the investigating officer learned that another officer was investigating an accident at Riggs Hill Road and Highway 20 with the same vehicle, a 1981 Isuzu driven by Dennis Lane Day, 60, of Riggs Hill Road.
Day allegedly attempted to turn from Highway 20 onto Riggs Hill Road too fast crashing into the ditch on the east side of the intersection and knocking over the stop sign.
For the hit and run, Day was charged with failure to perform the duties of a driver, property, which is a misdemeanor. He was cited for careless driving in the subsequent accident.
