Editor:
Saturday evening, Feb. 25, the Sweet Home, Lebanon and Albany Seventh-Day Adventist women’s ministries hosted a “Fashion for Compassion” event in Lebanon.
“Fun with Focus” was the evening’s motto, and while everyone had a wonderful time, the best part of the evening was the opportunity to lend a hand to someone special in our community.
We were able to provide a young woman with a 12-piece wardrobe for her new job.
The evening included dinner; music by Donald Cobbs; an icebreaker; a lot of fun door prizes; and a presentation on Weekenders Clothing by Carla Claasen, where she taught the women how to make the most of their wardrobes; and provided clothes for the women to actually try on.
Twenty percent of all sales that take place by March 9 will go to our recipient, a young woman from within our community and located through Lebanon’s Pregnancy Alternative Center, along with cash donations so that she can build a wardrobe for her new job as she “begins again.”
A big thank you to the Lebanon Seventh-Day Adventist Church for allowing us the use of their facility and to everyone who helped prepare for and the host the evening. A special thank you to Sonia Glover, hair dresser from Trendsetters in Sweet Home, for blessing ladies at the event with free trims and styles.
