Wunker plays well in All-Star Series

Sweet Home High School graduate Randy Wunker played in the state 3A All Star Baseball Series in Roseburg on June 15 and 16.

He was on the North team. The North won the nine-inning game on Saturday 11-2. On Sunday, two seven-inning games were played. The North won 4-3 in the first and 8-3 in the second.

Wunker started in right field the first night and played half the game.

He was 0-2 at the plate.

The second day, he played the entire second game of the doubleheader, playing center and right and making several plays in the outfield.

He went 2-4 at bats with two singles, a stolen base and a run.

The All-Star Series is a great baseball series played in a beautiful park (Legion Field,” Sweet Home Coach Dan Tow said. “It was an outstanding opportunity for Randy, and I know he enjoyed himself. Plus, he got to play with some of the best baseball players in the state.

“He played very well, and he got to be on the team that won all three games.”
