Wunker, Severns, Brocard first-team in baseball, softball

All-league honors went to a number of Sweet Home High School softball and baseball players.

In baseball, Randy Wunker was named to the first team at pitcher. Andy Ellis was second-team catcher. Matt Matuszak was second-team shortstop. B.J. Emmert was second-team outfield. Mike Nagamatsu was second-team utility.

Capital Conference player of the year was Ken Leming of Stayton. Coach Ken Taylor of Stayton was coach of the year.

In softball, Ashley Severns was unanimously picked for first team infield. Jessica Brocard was selected to the first team outfield. Heather Wall was named to the second team at pitcher. Kaci Trask was second team infield.

Pitcher of the year was Kelly Palmateer of Central. Player of the year was Casey Bunn of Stayton. Coach of the year was Larry Buehler of Central. Assistant coach of the year was Vance Viter of Molalla.
