Milli Stevens of Sweet Home shows off a Christmas ornament she found May 28 when hiking on Hackleman Old Growth Trail. The ornament was one of 50 hidden along trails in the Sweet Home Ranger District in the Find Your Trail ornament hunt. The contest extends through all four ranger districts in the Willamette National Forest, which is producing this year’s Capitol Christmas Tree. Each ranger district has 50-cent ornaments hidden along trails and hikers who find them will win immediate prizes and a chance to win a trip for two to Washington D.C. in November. Stevens, who was hiking with her husband, Marc Stevens, and son Rob Glodt, said it was not difficult to spot the ornament, hanging about seven feet off the trail, “because I knew what I was looking for.” She won two tickets to a Eugene Emeralds baseball game and is entered in the drawing for the big prize.
