He must pay $676 in fines and fees and will serve three years on post-prison supervision.

His brother, Damon Ray Boydston, 51, who dropped him off at the scene of the attempted murder, pleaded no contest to felon in possession of a firearm. He was sentenced to 15 months in prison. He pleaded guilty to driving under the influence and was sentenced to six months in jail concurrent to his prison sentence. He must pay $2,146 in fines. He will serve two years post-prison supervision. His license is suspended for one year.

The brothers were arrested on Dec. 22 after Damon Boydston dropped Barry Boydston off at Bubbles and Barks, a dog-grooming business at 800 Long St.

Barry Boydston went into the business where he reportedly pointed a shotgun at Rebekah Katelnikoff, 26, who was working in the shop, which is owned by Boydston’s ex-girlfriend, Cindy Blondin. Katelnikoff and Blondin, 50, struggled with him, attempting to take the shotgun.

The shotgun discharged twice during the struggle. Shots struck the ceiling and a bath tub.

Katelnikoff fled the building after the initial struggle and called the police. When police arrived, Barry Boydston exited the building without the weapon and surrendered without incident.

Blondin had kicked the Boydstons out of her house the Friday before the incident.

Damon Boydston had previously been convicted of first-degree forgery, in 2001, and bank robbery, in 2003.
