The performance is free, but donations are accepted.
– Sweet Home Genealogical Society will host its Bazaar, Bake Sale and Grannie’s Attic sale from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Friday and Saturday, Dec. 7-8, at 1223 Kalmia St.
A variety of arts and crafts will be available, as well as second-hand items from Grannie’s Attic, baked goodies, and books for sale.

– Storybook Land is open from 10 a.m. to 8:30 p.m. Saturdays and Sundays, from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. Mondays through Thursdays, and from 2 to 8:30 p.m. on Fridays, through Dec. 14, at the Linn County Fairgrounds livestock pavilion in Albany.
The free event includes 115 scenes from fairytale and family movies in a forest setting with Christmas lights and music.
Santa and Mrs. Claus will be at the North Pole with candy canes for the kids.
– Lebanon Association for Theatre Arts will hold its annual Christmas Show at 7 p.m. Friday, Dec. 7, and at 2 and 7 p.m. Saturday, Dec. 8, at Lebanon High School Auditorium, 1700 S. Fifth St.
Themed “Christmas at the Airport,” the event will feature all manner of local talent in song, instrumental and spoken word performances.
An Ugly Sweater Contest is part of the program.

– The Sweet Home Mennonite Church hosts its second annual Gingerbread Competition from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Saturday, Dec. 8, in the church’s activity center at 1266 44th Ave.
To enter a gingerbread house in the competition, registration and rules can be picked up at the church or the Sweet Home Chamber of Commerce, and entries must be delivered on Dec. 7. There is no entry fee, and the contest is open to children and adults.
Entries will be on display to the general public. Those who wish to view the entries are asked to bring a donated canned food item as an entry fee. Donations will go to SHEM. A free raffle for a gingerbread house will be held, and food will be available for purchase.

– The Sweet Home Alumni Foundation will host its 15th annual Decorated Tree Auction from 5:30 to 8:30 p.m. Saturday, Dec. 8, in the Sweet Home High School cafeteria, 1641 Long St.
This year’s theme is “An Oregon Trail Christmas.” Live, decorated trees, sponsored and designed by businesses and individuals, will be available for bid. A silent auction features holiday gifts, baked goods, handcrafted items and theme baskets.
Cost to attend is $25 per person and includes a holiday dinner buffet and dessert. Proceeds from the tree auction support college scholarships for SHHS graduation seniors. The decorated trees will be on display from 12 to 2 p.m. Dec. 8.

– East Linn Museum will hold its annual Christmas Celebration from 5 to 7 p.m. Saturday, Dec. 8 and 15, at 746 Long St.
The museum will be decorated and there will be carriage rides, a bake sale, performances by the high school choir, and free hot chocolate and cider. The event is free, but donations to the museum are accepted.
– The Brownsville Women’s Study Club invites the public to tour the Festival of Trees on display at local businesses on Friday, Dec. 7, and Saturday, Dec. 8.
As many as 25 decorated trees will be part of a silent auction to raise money for the library and Moyer House in downtown Brownsville.

All the memorable episodes from the story are represented, including supporting characters: the unicorn, the centaur and other forest animals, Father Christmas, Mr. and Mrs. Beaver, and Tumnus the Faun. This story of love, faith, courage and giving, with its triumph of good over evil, is a true celebration of life.

– Willamette Valley Concert Band will perform its annual Christmas Concert at 1 p.m. Saturday, Dec. 15, in the Russell Tripp Performance Center at Linn-Benton Community College, Albany.
This will be the final performance for the band’s director, Dr. Richard Sorenson, who is stepping down for health reasons after 47 years with the band, which began as the Albany Civic Band in 1971 and has gone through several different name changes since then.
The program will include a variety of Christmas favorites, such as “Fantasy on a Bell Carol for Band,” various medleys of Christmas carols, “Fum, Fum, Fum” (as recorded by Mannheim Steamroller), and more.
As part of the band’s celebration of Dr. Sorenson’s leadership, it is extending an invitation to all past band alumni to join the band in its last two numbers, “Adeste Fidelis” and “Sleigh Ride.” To participate, contact Sorenson at (503) 838-3474.

– Lebanon Community Chorus will perform its Winter Classical Concert at 3 p.m. Sunday, Dec. 16, at Lebanon High School, 1700 S 5th St.
Director Kevin Wong will lead the choir in a program that will include “Lux Eterna” by Morten Lawrenson, a 20th-century Pacific Northwest composer, “Ubi Caritas” by Norwegian composer Ola Gjeilo, traditional South African song “Indodana,” and traditional Christmas favorites.
Also on the program is “Let the Life I’ve Lived Speak for Me” by Gwyneth Walker.
Admission is $10; seniors over 55 are $6 and there is no charge for attendees under 18. Tickets are available at the Lebanon Chamber of Commerce, Lebanon Bi-Mart, from current singers and at the door.
