Safe Driving class
for seniors at LBCC
A Safe Driving class for seniors will be held from 9 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. Thursday, Oct. 25, at the Linn-Benton Community College Sweet Home Center, 1661 Long St.
The class is particularly for older drivers and serves as a refresher course to prevent crashes that occur due to inattention and sloppy driving habits.
Attendees should bring their driver’s license and a sack lunch. Cost is $20, which covers materials used in the class. American Association of Retired Persons members can receive a $5 discount if they bring an AARP membership card.
Oregon law requires insurance companies to offer reduced auto insurance rates to drivers who have a current Safe Driving class receipt, which should more than cover the cost of the class.
For more information or to register by phone, call (541) 367-6901.
The AARP Safe Driving Program is seeking volunteers to conduct the courses. There are currently no instructors in Lebanon or Sweet Home. The class is offered twice a year. Anyone interested in becoming an instructor is encouraged to attend the class and discuss the opportunity.
