Folk musician to perform Friday

Jaspar Lepak will present a program of folk music at 7 p.m. Friday, July 22, at Marks Ridge Winery, 29255 Berlin Road.

Lepak is a folk/Americana songwriter whose songs are deeply influenced by the many places she has called home: Tucson, Ariz .; Minneapolis; Durban, South Africa; and currently, Seattle. Sweeping across landscapes with an emotional depth that is extraordinary, her lyrics expose a brave vulnerability while her clear, pure voice touches the heart.

In 2011, she recorded “Forgiving Wind” which Rolling Stone South Africa hailed as an album full of “beauty and original charm.” Lepak released her seventh CD, “Wide World,” in April 2014. She tours frequently between her former homes and her new home in the Pacific Northwest, often accompanied by husband Kale (accordion and harmonies) and other friends she’s found along the way.

Bring your own picnic or snacks and enjoy open air seating at bistro tables or bring a chair or blanket.

The concert is the first of weekly Friday night offerings through August at the winery, which will feature a wide range of musical styles. Cover is $10 per person. No outside alcohol is allowed.
