Remember the uproar when the law was passed that seatbelts had to be worn to protect people riding in a vehicle?
I heard something awhile back that I’m sure would cause as large or perhaps larger uproar: if a law were passed to restrict animals’ movement in your car. I see the seatbelt law has been a good way of protecting us.
Question: Is it not as unsafe or even more so to allow an animal to roam around in your vehicle or to leave your child without a seatbelt while you are driving? My problem with this issue is that we are safe wearing the seatbelt, but having an animal wandering all around the vehicle while someone is driving and attending to the distractions the animal causes makes you wonder if a law should be passed restricting how animals should be transported inside a vehicle.
I love pets but I was just thinking that, by not dealing with this, we are not providing the safety we thought when it concerns the operator or passengers. (Or, for that matter, the pet.)
In closing, I might say I’m not sure a law is in effect in Orgon requiring any restriction on animals moving around in a vehicle, but to the best of my knowledge I’ve never seen a police report citing animals for not wearing seatbelts while riding in a vehicle.
