Confederate flag good reminder

Editor:

My personal belief is that the Confederate flag should fly prominently in the U.S. and every state capitol. We celebrate the “Stars and Stripes” as a symbol of our country and all the good it has done for our citizens and for peoples all over the world – and justifiably so! But the “Stars and Bars,” Nazi Germany’s Swastika and Japan’s “Rising Sun” should all be prominently displayed in all sites of power to remind all of those in power how often and far good intentions can go astray.

At these locations, also prominently displayed, should be the phrase, “LEST THEY FORGET!” to remind those in power to act with caution and deep thought before enacting any action.

It is fine to remember the good you have done and bask in its glory but probably even more important to remember when good (or even evil) intentions have gone astray.

In the U.S. case, the seeds planted during the evil of slavery are now coming to fruition in our country.
