Sweet Home lost 2-1 at home against Cascade Oct. 22 and 3-1 at Sisters Thursday, Oct. 24, in girls soccer.
Cascade scored twice in the first half of the game, while Esther Ramsey scored for the Huskies in the second half.
Cascade’s goalie kicked it back to the middle of the field, and Ramsey took the ball, passing it to Emily Farthing, who passed it back to her, said Coach Ramiro Santana. A Cascade defender tried to kick the ball back to the goalie, but Ramsey never gave up, followed it in and took a point-blank shot.
Thursday, Sisters scored its first goal in the first 15 minutes on a corner kick, Santana said, then the Outlaws scored again on a long shot from the right side.
Their third goal came on a penalty kick, and Sisters led 3-0 at halftime.
Natalie Rodgers took a long shot on an angle from the corner of the goal area to score for the Huskies, Santana said. Mostly in the second half, it turned into a defensive back and forth. “We played even. We held them. Neither team did a whole lot.”
Overall, “it was one of those everybody’s better, everybody steps up,” Santana said. “We did good with what we could do.”
The Huskies have a good team, but they continue to lack enough speed, Santana said. They can handle the ball, but the opponents are bringing more speed to the field.
The Huskies were scheduled to travel to Newport Tuesday evening, which finishes their season.
