Roy Grabeel

Roy Lee Grabeel, 79, of Sweet Home. passed away May 13, 2026.
He was born Jan. 11, 1947, to Lucille (Toliver) and Les Grabeel in Wright City, Okla.
He lived in Wright City, then moved to Sweet Home in the 1950s.
Roy served in the Army from 1966 to 1986. The Army allowed him to travel the world. Roy lived in Germany for nine years, along with stops in Oklahoma, Washington and Georgia. In 1987 he moved back to Sweet Home and has lived here since.
After the Army he worked as a carpenter. He also worked as a Real Estate Broker and was a construction supervisor before retiring.
Roy liked to metal detect; he enjoyed hunting, fishing and most of all he loved to spend time with his family.
He is survived by his children, Travis (Angelique) Grabeel, Anna (Scot) McKillop, Esther Meyer and Misty Spiers, all of Sweet Home; siblings Mike Grabeel and Charles Grabeel, both of Sweet Home, and Patty Chastain of St. Helens; nine grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his wife Gail Grabeel (2025); and his sisters, Glenda Richards and Betty White.
Viewing was May 18 at Sweet Home Funeral Chapel. A funeral service was held May 19 at Sweet Home Funeral Chapel followed by a burial with military honors at Gilliland Cemetery.
