The Sweet Home High School cheerleaders work through their routine on their way to a first-place finish in their division Saturday in the Pre-State Classic held at the Salem Pavillion on the Oregon State Fairgrounds. They also were the grand champions among teams from 4A and smaller districts. The team has placed first in all four competitions so far this season. The Sweet Home Junior Cheerleaders finished first in their division, their second first-place trophy in three competitions so far this season. Both teams move on to their state championships at the Memorial Coliseum this weekend. The high school team will compete in the Oregon Student Activities Association State Cheerleading Competition on Saturday. The junior high will compete in the Oregon Cheerleading Coaches Association Cheer Championships on Sunday.
