Michael Ralph Marshall Jr.
Michael Ralph Marshall Jr., 35, pleaded guilty and was sentenced Jan. 8 in Linn County Circuit Court to 37 months in prison for second-degree assault.
Marshall was also fined $200.
The female victim reported that she had been assaulted by her boyfriend on Dec. 9 where the transients were camping on city property, the former Knife River quarry property located at the end of Zelcova Street. According to police, she had visible injuries on her face and claimed to have been struck with the handle of an ax.
Officers located the male sleeping sleeping in a shed in the 1900 block of Willow Street an hour later.
Marshall was previously convicted of menacing in a July case involving the same victim.
He was arrested in that case on July 3. He pleaded no contest to menacing, possession of meth and failure to appear and was sentenced to 20 days in jail, 24 months probation and fined $300. A charge of attempted second-degree assault was dismissed.
On Nov. 14, Marshall was sentenced to 10 days in jail for a probation violation on the menacing and possession charges. He was sentenced on Jan. 8 to an additional 10 days in jail for probation violation.
Timothy Loren Ames Jr.
Timothy Loren Ames Jr., 29, pleaded no contest and was sentenced Jan. 10 to 30 days in jail and 36 months probation for first-degree burglary.
He was fined $200.
Dismissed were an additional count of first-degree burglary and third-degree theft.
He was charged in connection to the theft of clonazepam from a 23rd Avenue apartment on Aug. 16. Police arrested Ames on Sept. 13.
