Albert and Beulah Cowan celebrated their 65th wedding anniversary on March 7 with family and a few close friends.
They were married March 4, 1945 in Hubbard and had their first home in Oregon City. They later moved to Cascadia, and then to Sweet Home where they built their own house. Albert worked as a service station attendant, dairy farmer and truck driver for various logging companies before becoming owner/operator of his own logging truck, from which he retired.
He was well known for helping neighbors and friends with sick animals, bailing hay, tilling gardens, etc. Beulah was a stay-at-home mom where she raised five children, sewing many of their clothes, chauffeuring, and growing beautiful flowers. The Cowans have been active in church, and have opened their hearts and home to many. They raised their children to love God and to share that love with others.
They have five children: Terry (Karen) Cowan; Cheryl and (Tony) Kowalczik, Keith and (Jeanne) Cowan, Alan and (Julie) Cowan, and Carlene and (Dan) Dettwyler; 13 grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren.
