Five injured in collision that resulted in rollover on Main St.

Five people were injured in a two-vehicle collision Sunday afternoon, July 15.

Police, medics and firefighters responded to the crash in the 2400 block of Main Street at 3:15 p.m.

Jodie Eberhardt, 33, of Sweet Home was driving a 2006 Mazda four-door and pulling into the east driveway of Circle K when her vehicle was struck in the rear by a 2010 Jeep Patriot driven by Daniel Gonzalez, 35, of Albany, said Police Chief Jeff Lynn.

The impact ripped the bumper off of the passenger’s side of the Mazda, while the Jeep rolled, landing on its top about 100 feet to the east, clipping a traffic sign. The Jeep came to rest beside a fire hydrant, which was not damaged, against a power pole.

The Jeep had four passengers, while the driver was the sole occupant of the Mazda. All five persons in the Jeep were transported away by medics from Sweet Home and Lebanon.

Police have not issued citations yet, Lynn said. The accident remains open and under investigation.

The Major Accident Investigation Team responded. Assisting in the investigation were Lebanon Police Department, Albany Police Department, Linn County Sheriff’s Office and Oregon State Police.

Lynn requested that anyone who witnessed the crash or who has information contact the Police Department at (541) 367-5181.
