Isabel Anderegg, 89, a former resident of the Forest Grove community, late of Sweet Home, died Aug. 24, 2006 at the Samaritan Lebanon Community Hospital in Lebanon.
She was born June 16, 1917 in Hillsdale, the daughter of Rudolph Dimbat and Josephine (Genteman) Dimbat. She was raised and received her education in the Salem and Carver communities. She graduated from Milwaukie High School in 1935. She later attended Hutinson Floral School in Portland.
She was united in marriage to Henry H. Anderegg on Aug. 24, 1935 in Damascus, Oregon. Following their marriage the Andereggs resided in Portland until 1948 when they moved to Vernonia. They lived in Vernonia for more than 30 years until the early 1980s when they moved to the Forest Grove community. In August of 2003, they moved to Sweet Home, to be near a son and his family.
From 1968 to 1976, Mrs. Anderegg owned and operated the Chalet Flower Shop in Vernonia.
She attended Elm Street Baptist Church. She was a member of the Rebekah Lodge, first in Vernonia and later in St. Helens for over 50 years. She was active in Grange work in the Natal, Vernonia and Forest Grove Granges for over 50 years. While her children were growing up, Mrs. Anderegg was active with 4-H clubs and PTA. She also helped organize the Girl Scout troop in Vernonia.
Among her interests, she enjoyed quilting, sewing, helping her husband run his dairy, gardening, baking, and was known for her apple pie.
Mrs. Anderegg is survived by a daughter and son-in-law, Jean Ann and Robert O’Borders of Richland; two sons and a daughter-in-law, Ron Anderegg of Los Angeles, and Pastor Ralph and Nancy Anderegg of Sweet Home; six grandchildren and their spouses; four great-grandchildren; five great-great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Henry, on April 21, 2006, after celebrating over 70 years of marriage; her parents, Rudolph and Josephine Dimbat; four brothers, Henry Dimbat, Edward Dimbat, Robert Dimbat and Harold Dimbat; and a sister, Rose Boulanger.
Visitation will be from 10 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. Thursday, Aug. 31 at the Fuiten, Rose & Hoyt Funeral Home, 74l Madison Ave. in Vernonia. A celebration of Mrs. Anderegg’s life will be held at 1 p.m. at the funeral chapel with her son, Pastor Ralph H. Anderegg, officiating. Concluding rites and interment will follow at the Vernonia Memorial Cemetery.
Family and friends are invited to a reception immediately following, to be held at the Vernonia Scout Cabin, 901 Park Drive in Vernonia.
