The Oregon Jamboree announced last week that it has signed a second headliner, Toby Keith, and three other artists for its 24th annual festival, scheduled for July 29-13, 2016.
Joining the line-up behind Keith and previously announced headliner Carrie Underwood are Randy Houser, Old Dominion and Chase Bryant.
Keith has been one of the most consistent self-directed hit makers of his era, from his first No. 1 smash, “Should’ve Been A Cowboy,” to his new album, “35 MPH Town.”
His lead single, “Made In America,” topped the charts as one of the fastest rising songs in a long line of chart burners from Keith’s pen. The second hit, “Red Solo Cup,” has become the most remarkable and commercially successful country single in recent memory with a viral video with more than 30 million views while having topped the top downloaded country songs charts.
His first single from “35 MPH Town,” “Drunk Americans,” debuted at No. 1 Most Added on both the Billboard and Country Aircheck/Mediabase charts; while the current single, “Beautiful Stranger,” has already gained critical acclaim.
Houser’s inimitable voice was described by the New York Times as “wholly different, thicker and more throbbing, a caldron bubbling over.”
Houser has racked up three consecutive No. 1 hits and more than four million in singles sales to date with his Stoney Creek Records album, “How Country Feels.” He topped the charts with the title track, “Runnin’ Outta Moonlight” and “Goodnight Kiss” (also his first No. 1 as a songwriter) and earned critical acclaim for his powerful delivery of the Top 5 smash and CMA Song of the Year-nominated “Like A Cowboy.”
Houser’s Top 20-and-climbing single, “We Went,” is available at country radio and digital retailers now, with a new album forthcoming.
Tipped by Billboard, Rolling Stone and Huffington Post as a 2015 band to watch, Old Dominion brings their spirited take on modern country to their RCA Nashville debut, Meat and Candy. The debut single “Break up With Him,” became a Top 10 hit.
If fans aren’t yet familiar with the quintet’s vibrant sound, they have heard the members’ collective handiwork as songwriters on hits for Kenny Chesney, Blake Shelton, Dierks Bentley, Luke Bryan, Keith Urban, and The Band Perry, among others.
Bryant knows small towns, having been raised in Orange Grove, Texas (pop. 1,200). His grandfather played piano in Roy Orbison’s first two bands and, later for Waylon Jennings.
His uncles co-founded the group Ricochet, which had several hits in the 1990s, so it’s no surprise that this 22-year-old Texan could already be a top-flight guitar player, head-turning songwriter, Red Bow recording artist and co-producer of his debut album that featured his Top 10 debut single “Take It On Back.”
